MY SEWING STYLE DIY BODY CON SEPARATES

For the awesome folks who follow all my sewing shenanigans on Facebook, finally, photos of my brown ribbed knit bodycon dress! Yay! The weather has been so nice here in New Orleans recently and it was near perfect the day we went out to shoot. Cool, crisp fall weather is THE ABSOLUTE BEST. This sewing project, in all it’s simplicity in looks, didn’t come without its challenges (see here) but I’m pleased with how it ultimately turned out. I used McCall’s M5700 to sew my skirt and Butterick B5386 (view C with lots of adjustments) for my cropped turtleneck. Form-fitted and body conscious is pretty new for me, because I can remember a time that I wouldn’t dare. But I’ll say this, all you need to wear styles like this is body confidence, whatever your size. Wear it and OWN IT! Below are a few more pics, and if you’re not into sewing it yourself, scroll to the bottom to shop similar looks.
