FASHION SEWING VOGUE 9343 A COCKTAIL DRESS WITH POCKETS
I knew when I first spotted this Vogue pattern that I wanted to sew it. And that fact that the pattern already included pockets was just butter. But my excitement at sewing this pattern quickly ended there. I don’t know if it was me or if the pattern instructions were confusing but I did not enjoy the sewing process creating this dress. The skirt and pockets were fine, but the bodice is what gave me the blues. And listen, I could have been having an off day with this sewing pattern, so don’t let it deter you if you want to make this dress yourself because despite everything, the dress is super cute! Hello Nola – you were not having an off day with this pattern …the top bodice is extremely tricky and directions a little confusing. I am in the process of making this dress for myself (with mostly my mother’s help) for my daughter’s wedding. My mother was an avid sewer back in the day, however she has not really worked on a pattern in years. Any tips in regards to sewing the top pieces together so it lays smooth by the neck? Appreciate it…. and the dress looks gorgeous:)
